JUSTIN BOWER:  IN YOUR FACE

AT SADDLEBACK COLLEGE

Mission Viejo, CA.  (September 17 – October 4)  The Art Gallery at Saddleback College opens its Fall Season with Orange County artist Justin Bower’s large scale portraits on September 17 through October 4 in the Saddleback College Art Gallery.  In his art, Bower exams the confrontation between cultural conformity and the hardwired human psyche; the outside world (technology and cultural conventions) meet the inner workings (behavior and intuition) revealing detailed portraits of grand proportions.  As complex as human culture, the oversize canvases hint at abstraction, dances around Fauvism and tatters the photorealist envelope, ultimately elaborating on the complexities of neo-Baroque.

Justin Bower:  In Your Face is free and open to the public and can be viewed on September 17 through October 4, Monday through Wednesday, Noon to 4 p.m. and Thursday evenings, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  There will be an artist reception on Thursday, September 13 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  In addition to normal Gallery hours, the Gallery will be open on Saturday, September 22, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
